Mr. Miller joined the Civil Service in 1992 as an operations analyst and now serves as the executive director, Information Warfare Training Group. As the executive director and senior civilian, he assists the commander in recommending and executing command policy and serves as mentor and hiring official for 40 general schedule (GS) civilians.
His most recent assignments, while serving at Navy Information Operations Command, Norfolk, included deputy operations officer from November 2005 to March 2007 and as executive director during May 2007 through March 2018.
Mr. Miller’s military experience includes eight years as an F-4 Phantom radar intercept officer. Upon release from active duty, he affiliated with the Navy Reserve for twenty-two years retiring in February 2009. Primary reserve assignments included four years in the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense (networks and information integration) and four years in the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense (personnel and readiness) which provided senior staff experience well utilized in his civil service assignments.
Mr. Miller's highest military award earned was the Defense Superior Service Medal (DSSM).
Mr. Miller's civilian background and training includes Navy Corporate Business Course (NCBC) and Naval War College graduate (Non-resident Continuing Education Program).
