Capt. Bobby 'Bob' Carmickle

Capt. Bob Carmickle is a native of Kentucky.
He graduated from Columbus State University and enlisted in the Navy in 1999 as an Operations Specialist. He holds a Masters of Science degree from Syracuse University, a Doctoral degree from Regent University, and is a Harvard Executive Fellow.
At sea, Capt. Carmickle served as an Operations Specialist aboard USS Russell (DDG 59); Electronic Warfare Officer aboard USS John L. Hall (FFG 32); Main Propulsion Division Officer and Damage Control Officer aboard USS Cole (DDG 67); Liaison Naval Officer and Sea Combat Watch Officer to COMDESRON EIGHTEEN; Strike Warfare Officer and Communications Officer to COMPHIRON TWO; Electronics Material Officer and Combat Systems Officer aboard USS Freedom (LCS 1); and Assistant Chief of Staff for C5I and Deputy Information Warfare Commander to Carrier Strike Group NINE.
Ashore, he served as Instructor at Center for Surface Combat Systems; Junior IP Detailer at Navy Personnel Command; Officer in Charge, Naval Computer and Telecommunications Area Master Station Atlantic Detachment Hampton Roads; Deputy Executive Assistant to OPNAV N2N6; Commanding Officer, Naval Computer and Telecommunications San Diego; Senior Military to DoD Chief Information Officer; and Commanding Officer, Naval Computer and Telecommunications Area Master Station Atlantic.
He now serves as the Chief of Staff at Naval Information Forces Suffolk, Va.
Capt. Carmickle's personal awards include the Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, and Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
