A native of Ohio, Master Chief Brad Williamson reported to Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, Ill., in August 2000. Upon completion of basic training, he reported to NTC Great Lakes where he attended Engineman “A” School.
His assignments include USS Valley Forge (CG 50); Assault Craft Unit ONE as LCU Chief Engineer; Riverine Squadron TWO as Detachment Leading Chief Petty Officer; Joint Terminal Attack Controller and Patrol Officer; Assault Craft Unit FOUR as Command Senior Enlisted Leader, Craftmaster and 3MC; and Expeditionary Warfare Training Group, Atlantic as Senior Enlisted Leader, Craftmaster Instructor and Course Chief for Tactical Air Control Party.
During his sea assignments, he conducted eight deployments in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation New Dawn, Exercises Bright Star, Juniper Cobra, Alligator Dagger, and Eager Lion, as well as counter narcotics operations.
Master Chief Williamson was selected for Command Master Chief in 2021 and completed an assignment onboard USS Oak Hill (LSD 51). He reported as Naval Computer and Telecommunications Area Master Station Atlantic (NCTAMS LANT) Command Master Chief in August 2023.
Master Chief is a graduate and dean’s list recipient of the Senior Enlisted Academy, Command Master Chief Course and holds an Associates of Arts Degree in Supervision and Management. Additionally, he has earned his Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist, Air Warfare Specialist, Expeditionary Warfare Specialist, Information Warfare Specialist, Small Craft Insignia, and Master Training Specialist designations.
His decorations include Meritorious Service Medal (two awards), Navy and Marine Corp Commendation Medal (three awards), Army Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals (four awards), Combat Action Ribbon, and various campaign awards.
