Suffolk, Va - Vice Adm. Kelly Aeschbach, commander of Naval Information Forces (NAVIFOR), visits Navy Cyber Defense Operations Command (NCDOC) for a briefing on the latest Deployable Mission Support System (DMSS) v3.0. DMSS is a stand-alone cyber suite based upon an approved USCYBERCOM hardware/software baseline designed to enable the core Cyber Protection Teams (CPT) functions of hunt, clear, harden, and assess. NAVIFOR formally assumed responsibility of the DMSS program from Fleet Cyber Command on October 1st, 2020. In coordination with Naval Information Warfare Center Pacific, the NAVIFOR Modernization and Integration team was tasked with equipping CPT with DMSS in support of their survey, secure, and protect missions for United States Cyber Command (USCYBERCOM). The team delivered a system that is highly portable and provides a temporary storage capability for post-mission data, satisfying significant CPT demand signal for increased storage capacity. Naval Information Forces generates, directly and through leadership of the IW Enterprise, agile and technically superior manned, trained, equipped and certified combat-ready Navy Information Warfare forces to ensure our Navy will decisively deter, compete and win in today’s strategic competition.
