Combat-Ready Information Warfare Forces

Commander, Naval Information Forces (NAVIFOR) generates, directly and through our leadership of the IW enterprise, agile and technically superior manned, trained, equipped and certified combat-ready IW forces to ensure our Navy will decisively deter, compete and win.

As an echelon III command under Commander, U.S. Fleet Forces Command (USFFC), NAVIFOR is responsible for Navy IW force generation and delivery to naval and joint operational commanders; IW doctrine, policy and governance; training requirements; and community management. NAVIFOR directs 600 military and civilian employees to generate IW readiness across the fleet, including direct administrative control of over 85 commands and activities manning ~20,000 billets across the globe.

The integrated employment of the Navy's information-based capabilities (communications, networks, intelligence, meteorology, oceanography, cryptology, electronic warfare, cyberspace operations, and space) to degrade, deny, deceive or destroy the enemy's warfighting capabilities, or to enhance the effectiveness of friendly operations across all domains.
