    Security Process

The Suffolk Complex security process is run by the Department of Homeland Security, and is very different from traditional military bases.  If you have a CAC, you are able to get through the gate but will NOT be able to get into any of the buildings without a building badge.

    • Contact your Sponsor PRIOR to arrival, and be sure to read the "Prohibited Items on the Suffolk Complex" document.
    • Once through the gate, you must first go to Suffolk Security In-processing Center (SSIC) in order to receive a building badge to Bldg #112 (NCDOC). SSIC is now located in Bldg #115
(Naval Information Forces), which is located on your LEFT after the gate/guards. Go to their quarterdeck and tell security you are there to pick up your badge to Bldg #112.
    • During security processing, expect to go through a metal detector. Cell phones and smart watches or anything that has Bluetooth enabled are not allowed in any of the buildings on the Suffolk Complex. We recommend you leave them in the car. Each building has limited storage cubicles at the entrance if you forget; however, we are not responsible if items are stolen.
    • Your Sponsor will meet you at the Quarterdeck of Bldg #112 to begin your check-in process.
