Lt. Cmdr. Adam T. Humphrey
Executive Officer, Naval Information Warfare Training Group (NIWTG) Gulfport

Lt. Cmdr. Adam T. Humphrey enlisted in the Navy in 1995 and was a prior CTRC, receiving his commission via the Seaman to Admiral-21 Program at the University of Arizona, graduating in December 2004.
His first assignment as a naval officer was the 1st lieutenant in MHC crew Loyalty embarked in USS Black Hawk (MHC 58). The crew deployed to Commander, U.S. Fleet Fleet (C5F) area of responsibility and executed a crew swap to USS Cardinal (MHC 60) homeported in Kingdom of Bahrain. Aboard Cardinal, he qualified as a surface warfare officer and was designated an 1110. After deployment, the crew swapped to USS Shrike (MHC 62). The final crew swap was to USS Pelican (MHC 53) where the crew simultaneously decommissioned the ship, trained the Hellenic (Greek) crew in its operation and executed a "hot" turnover of a fully armed and functioning warship to the Hellenic Navy as part of the Foreign Military Sales Program.
In April 2007 he reported as navigator aboard the USS Lake Champlain (CG 57). The highlight of this tour was navigating 110 miles down the Columbia River to Portland, Oregon. In 2008, he was selected for lateral transfer to cryptologic warfare officer (CW). His first assignment as a CW officer was at Naval Information Operations Command (NIOC) San Diego where he deployed as an Individual Augmentee (IA) to Joint Task Force-Guantanamo Bay (JTF-GTMO). At JTF-GTMO he served as the S2 assistant officer-in-charge (OIC) as part of the Joint Detention Group. Six months after returning from IA, he was assigned as the information operations detachment OIC to Commander, Amphibious Squadron (PHIBRON) 3, Peleliu Amphibious Ready Group (PELARG). PELARG deployed to Commander, U.S. 7th Fleet and U.S. 6th Fleet areas of responsibilities with the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit embarked.
His next assignment was on the staff of Commander, U.S. 3rd Fleet (C3F) as the cyber operations officer and special technical operations planner in the N39 information operations cell. Following C3F, he was assigned as the deputy N2, deputy information warfare commander and cryptologic resource coordinator on the staff of the world’s largest naval strike group at Commander, Expeditionary Strike Group (ESG) 3.
​LCDR Humphrey currently serves as the executive officer at Naval Information Warfare Training Group (NIWTG) Gulfport.
Lt. Cmdr. Humphrey earned his master’s degree from Naval Postgraduate School in cyber systems and operations.
Lt. Cmdr. Humphrey's personal awards include the 2011 Copernicus Award recognizing outstanding achievement in information warfare.
