Ms. Elizabeth Nashold
Deputy Commander, Naval Information Forces (NAVIFOR)

Ms. Elizabeth Nashold serves as the deputy commander, Naval Information Forces (NAVIFOR). Ms. Nashold assumed these duties in August 2019, where she leads a staff of more than 500 military and civilian professionals and directly manages an annual budget of approximately $1.2 billion.
Ms. Nashold also serves as the senior civilian for type command (TYCOM) staff responsible for the man, train and equip functions for Navy information warfare (IW) and Fleet C5ISR (command, control, communications, computers, combat systems, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance) capabilities assigned to 91 subordinate operational shore commands manned by more than 21,000 IW personnel operating across the globe. NAVIFOR also supports the readiness of IW and C5ISR capabilities and personnel assigned to ships, submarines, aircraft, and expeditionary units reporting to the Navy's other TYCOMs.
Ms. Nashold graduated with distinction from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1991 with a Bachelor of Science degree in systems engineering. She also holds a Master of Engineering degree in environmental engineering from the University of Florida with a sub-specialty in hydrologic sciences.
Ms. Nashold entered active duty as a Civil Engineer Corps (CEC) officer, with tours as assistant resident officer in charge of construction, Naval Air Station (NAS) Jacksonville, Fla.; facilities manager for Naval Hospital Jacksonville, Fla.; assistant operations officer and detail officer in charge in Naval Mobile Construction Battalion (NMCB) FIVE in Port Hueneme, Calif., which included deployments to Okinawa, Japan and Haiti; assistant production officer and flag housing officer at the Navy Public Works Center, Norfolk, Va.; and environmental officer at Commander, U.S. Atlantic Fleet, Norfolk, Va.
Ms. Nashold departed active duty in March 2002 and continued supporting the Navy as a Navy civilian. She served in various roles including National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) program manager and executive directorate support at U.S. Fleet Forces Command; environmental engineer at U.S. Pacific Fleet; facilities support and environmental planning branch head for Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Hawaii; environmental readiness division resources and planning branch head for U.S. Fleet Forces Command; and environmental program director / environmental business line coordinator for Navy Region Mid-Atlantic and NAVFAC Mid-Atlantic.
In May 2016, Ms. Nashold was selected for appointment to the Senior Executive Service as director, Fleet Installations and Environment (N46) for U.S. Fleet Forces Command, responsible for directing the design, implementation, and management of programs to align the Fleet's activities in accordance with environmental statutes, as well as overseeing fleet installation and energy portfolios.
Ms. Nashold is a licensed professional engineer in the state of Virginia and is a graduate of the United States Department of Agriculture’s Executive Potential Program. She received two Meritorious Civilian Service Awards in 2006 and 2014, and a Superior Civilian Service Award in 2019. She achieved Level III certification in the Defense Acquisition Workforce.
