Cmdr. Jason Blackmon

Cmdr. Jason Blackmon is a native of Washington D.C. and is a 2002 graduate from the United States Naval Academy with a Bachelor’s of Science in Computer Science. He is also a graduate of the Naval Postgraduate School where he received a degree in Information Technology Management.
At sea, he served on cruisers, destroyers, and a command and control ship including deployments to the Mediterranean Seas, the Indian Ocean, and the Western and South Pacific. His sea tours include deployments on USS PORTER (DDG 78) while supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom, and Standing Naval Forces Mediterranean escort duties; onboard USS CURTIS WILBUR (DDG 54) during a Philippine Humanitarian assistance project, FOAL EAGLE, numerous real world Ballistic Missile Defense support efforts, and ANNUALEX; USS SAMPSON (DDG 102) when they completed the maiden deployment, and conducted a surge deployment in support of the 2010 Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) Exercise; USS ANTIETAM (CG 54) where they completed an Extended Dry-docking Selected Restricted maintenance Availability (EDSRA) and a successful hull-swap with the USS COWPENS (CG 63) to return to San Diego for a $13 million Continuous Maintenance Availability (CMAV); Commander, United States SEVENTH Fleet embarked on the USS BLUE RIDGE (LCC-19) in the N3 (Operations Directorate) as the Surface Operations Officer, he then transferred over to the N6 (Communications and Information Systems Directorate) as the Information Management and Staff Automatic Data Processing (ADP) Officer after approval of a lateral transfer to the Information Professional (Information Warfare) Community supporting numerous real world humanitarian response efforts and international cooperative training exercises across the SEVENTH Fleet Area of Operations. At United States Forces Korea J6 / Combined Forces Command C6 he served as the Interoperability Officer where he was responsible for the oversight of compatibility between C4I systems between the Republic of Korea and the United States. For U.S. Naval Forces Japan / U.S. Naval Region Japan he served as the ACOS for IT and Regional Chief Information Officer and oversaw C4I systems between Japan Maritime Self Defense Force and U.S. Naval Forces operating with their Japanese Allies. For Commander, Task Force SEVEN ZERO he served as the ACOS for C4I during a COVID complicated deployment as well various exercises within the Western Pacific AOR.
He is the recipient of various personal, and unit awards including the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (2), Naval Commendation Medal (2), Joint Service Achievement Medal, and the Naval Achievement Medal (3).
