Cmdr. Greg Cardwell

Executive Officer, Navy Cyber Warfare Development Group (NCWDG)

22 September 2020 Cmdr. Greg Cardwell is a native of Hollister, Missouri. Originally commissioned as a surface warfare officer, he served aboard USS Rentz (FFG 46), where he served as the gunnery officer and main propulsion officer.

Upon his redesignation to cryptology, Cmdr. Cardwell has served as a program technical director for NSA/CSS, as the cryptologic resource coordinator (CRC) for Amphibious Squadron (PHIBRON) 1, cyber effects department had at Navy Cyber Warfare Development Group (NCWDG), tactical information operations (N39) officer at Naval Special Warfare Group (NSWG) 10 and as the information operations officer (N39) at U.S. Pacific Fleet. 

He has deployed in the southern Pacific against the war on drugs, Operation Iraqi Freedom, to the Persian Gulf, and Operation Inherent Resolve.

Cmdr. Cardwell received his Bachelor of Science degree in 1999 from the College of the Ozarks in Pt. Lookout, Missouri. He is also a graduate of the Naval Postgraduate School where in 2011 he received a M.S.  Degree in computer science. 

His decorations include several personal awards and various campaign, unit and service awards.
