Capt. Turner, a second generation Sailor, is native to Maryland. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in December 1983. In September 1995, he was initiated and promoted to Radioman Chief Petty Officer.
In June 1999, Capt. Turner was commissioned as a Surface Communications Limited Duty Officer (6192).
At sea, he served as Electronics Material Officer aboard USS Carr (FFG 52); Communications Maintenance Officer and ships Weapons Coordinator aboard USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71); Communications Officer, Combat Information Systems Officer and Tactical Action’s Officer aboard USS Kitty Hawk (CV 63); Combat Systems Information Officer aboard USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75) and Combat Systems Officer aboard USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75).
His shore tours include Naval Computer and Telecommunications Area Master Station Atlantic where he served as a Joint Fleet Telecommunications Operations Center Watch Officer and Fleet Operations Officer. Naval Network Warfare Command staff supporting C5I installations. Expeditionary Strike Group Five staff in Manama, Bahrain where he served as Assistant Chief of Staff - N6. Navy Cyber Forces staff where he served as Deputy Carrier Modernization Officer. Navy Information Dominance Forces staff where served as the Director for cybersecurity training and assistance support to the Fleet. Naval Communications and Telecommunications Station Bahrain as the Executive Officer. Defense Information Systems Agency where he served as the Military Deputy for the Infrastructure Directorate.
Capt. Turner currently serves as the Executive Officer for Naval Network Warfare Command (NAVNETWARCOM).
Capt. Turner’s personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement medal, Good Conduct medal and various other unit awards.
