Master Chief Kristalina Greene, a native of Pittsburgh, enlisted under the delayed entry program in July 2001. She completed Recruit Training on Dec. 7, 2001 and progressed on to attend Electronic Warfare Operator and Cryptologic Technician Technical “A” schools.
Her first duty assignment was at Naval Security Group Activity, Norfolk where she deployed aboard USS George Washington (CVN 73) as an operational ELINT operator. In 2004, she earned both Enlisted Surface and Air Warfare Specialist designations and promoted to 2nd class petty officer.
Greene completed her first tour at Journeyman Instructor Training in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. Following, she reported to her next command, Center for Information Dominance Learning Site Hawaii as a cryptologic fleet operator instructor. In 2008 she earned her Master Training Specialist certification and promoted to 1st class petty officer.
In 2009, she transferred to Navy Information Operations Command, Colorado as an OPELINT analyst. She earned the Enlisted Information Warfare Specialist designation, completed 9102 “C” school, completed her AA in General Studies, and was selected as a Fleet Cyber Command - Navy Cyber Forces Shore Senior Sailor of the year finalist for 2011.
Greene reported aboard USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69) in 2012 and was selected for chief petty officer. As the electronic warfare leading chief petty officer, her team earned the Association of Old Crows recognition in 2013 and successfully completed two back-to-back deployments to the U.S. 5th Fleet area of responsibility.
CTTC Greene completed the Electronic Warfare Advanced Applications “C” school in 2015 and reported to Navy Information Operations Command Norfolk, Va. She was selected to Senior Chief Petty Officer in 2016 and served as the Electronic Warfare Technical Guidance Unit LCPO where she led 52 Electronic Warfare and Cryptologic fleet trainers executing Basic Phase training requirements.
Greene reported to Carrier Strike Group (CSG) 10 in 2019 and served as the assistant electronic warfare pfficer. While assigned to CSG-10, she was selected as a Navy Information Warfare Development Center (NIWDC) Information Warfare Tactics Instructor (IW WTI) candidate and achieved her IW WTI Level 4 Electronic Warfare designation. Additionally in 2019, she was selected to master chief petty officer.
Greene is assigned to Navy Information Warfighting Development Center and currently serves as the senior enlisted leader and surface electronic warfare lead. She completed her IW WTI Level 5 designation and co-sponsored the 21-1 IW WTI Training Development Continuum.
Master Chief’s personal awards include the Joint Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medals, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals, and various Unit and Service/Campaign awards.
