Capt. Matthew L. Ghen

Capt. Matthew L. Ghen enlisted in the Navy in 1993 and completed the Navy Nuclear training pipeline as a Machinist’s Mate. He was a plank owner on USS Seawolf, prior to being selected for the Seaman-to-Admiral commissioning program.
He subsequently attended Pennsylvania State University and graduated with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering. After graduation he completed the Navy Nuclear training pipeline and then reported to USS Enterprise as a Reactor Division officer.
He then reported to USS Winston S. Churchill as the Damage Control Assistant. After his tour on USS Winston S. Churchill, Capt. Ghen laterally transferred from the Surface Warfare community to the Information Warfare community as an Information Professional. He attended the Naval Post Graduate School and earned a M.S. in Computer Science.
He held positions as the JNCC-I Deputy Network Engineer in Iraq; Action Officer on the OPNAV N6 staff; and DESRON 2 N6 prior to his Executive Officer tour at NCTS San Diego. His subsequent tours included Deputy N6 for CNAP, N6 for USNAVSO / C4F and Secretary for the Inter-American Naval Telecommunications Network, Deputy N6 for USNAVCENT / C5F, Branch Chief on the Joint Staff J6, and most recently as the Deputy MOC Director for FLEETCYBER / C10F.
