Command Master Chief Ramshur is a native of Georgia. He enlisted in the United States Navy and reported for recruit training in Great lakes, Illinois in July 1997.
Command Master Chief Ramshur completed Electronics Technician “A” school before reporting to his first command at Fleet Combat Training Center Pacific in Point Loma, Calif., where he served as an AIMS MK XII Identification Friend or Foe technician. His subsequent sea duty assignments include USS John F. Kennedy (CV 67), USS Forrest Sherman (DDG 98), USS James E. Williams (DDG 95), USS Theodore Roosevelt (CVN 71), and USS George Washington (CVN 73). Deployments include service in the Western Pacific, Southern Pacific, Arabian Gulf, Arabian Sea, North Atlantic, Mediterranean and Black Sea.
His shore duty assignments include Naval Air Station Sigonella, Sicily as the Ground Electronics Leading Chief Petty Officer, and Afloat Training Group Norfolk as the Combat Systems Department Leading Chief Petty Officer.
He selected for the Command Senior Chief program in February 2017 and reported as Command Senior Chief of USS Lewis B. Puller (ESB 3) Gold Crew in September 2018. He began his tour as Command Master Chief of Information Warfare Training Group Norfolk in October 2018.
He holds an Associate Degree from Central Texas College. He is a graduate of the Navy Senior Enlisted Academy Class 205 Green and CMC/COB Class 190.
Along with multiple unit and campaign awards, Master Chief Ramshur’s personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (five awards) and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (five awards). He is qualified as an Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist, Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist, and Enlisted Information Warfare Specialist.
