Master Chief Sergio H. Moreno, a native of Texas, enlisted in the United States Navy in January 1995 and reported to Cryptologic Technician Interpretive School. During his first tour with a Vietnamese Cryptologic Direct Support Element (CDSE), at Naval Security Activity Kunia in Oahu, Hawaii, he served on board several aerial platforms and provided cryptologic support to U.S. Pacific Fleet assets.
While serving as a Spanish CDSE Supervisor for Naval Security Group Activity Medina, Texas, CMDCM Moreno conducted cryptologic support on board seven U.S. Atlantic Fleet surface assets in support of CINCLANTFLT, and USSOUTHCOM area of responsibility.
CMDCM Moreno returned to the Cryptologic Technician Interpretive School where he was awarded the Arabic Navy Enlisted Code. In 2004, he reported to Navy Information Operations Command Bahrain and served as an Arabic Airborne Supervisor in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF), Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF). He later served as an Arabic Sub-Surface Supervisor on board LANTFLT Combatants. He completed his linguistic career as an Arabic EP-3E Airborne Special Evaluator in support of OEF, Operation New Dawn and numerous maritime operations.
CMDCM Moreno graduated from the Senior Enlisted Academy and Command Leadership School in 2013. He has completed tours as Command Senior Chief and Command Master Chief at Cooperative Security Location Comalapa, El Salvador, Military Entrance Processing Station, New Orleans, USS William P. Lawrence (DDG-110), Naval Consolidate Brig Charleston and Naval Computer & Telecommunication Station Bahrain.
CMDCM Moreno is qualified and entitled to wear the Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist, Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist, Enlisted Submarine Warfare Specialist, Enlisted Information Warfare Specialist and Naval Air Crewman insignia. He has been awarded the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (4 awards), Air Medal (8 awards), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (4 awards) and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal along with numerous unit and individual awards.
Command Master Chief Moreno reported aboard Naval Computer & Telecommunication Station in May 2022 where he currently serves as the Command Master Chief.
