Master Chief Justin R. Anger Hails from Ohio. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and reported to Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, Ill., in September of 1999.
After graduating CTR “A” school in Pensacola, Fla., he reported to his first duty station NSGA Misawa, Japan in August of 2000 where he served as the a Reporter and Quality Control Manager. During this tour he promoted to Petty Officer Second Class.
He transferred in September 2003, attending Intermediate Communications Signals Analysis Course in Pensacola, Fla., earning the NEC “C18A” prior to reporting to USS ESSEX (LHD-2) in Sasebo Japan in March of 2004. While on board Essex he earned his Enlisted Surface and Air Warfare qualifications in addition to completing a 10 month Gulf deployment. He was promoted to Petty Officer First Class.
In April 2006, he reported to NIOC Maryland where he served as the Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge of the signals development center in the Meade Operations Center as well as the 50 Department Leading Petty Officer. He transferred in June 2009 and attended the Advanced Communications Signals Analysis Course, earning the NEC “C19A”.
In October 2009, he reported to NIOC Menwith Hill in Harrogate, England where he served as the Development Watch Officer and the Communications Watch Officer on the floor. During his tour he earned his Enlisted Information Warfare qualification, was selected as the 2011 Sailor of the Year and was promoted to Chief Petty Officer. He transferred in November of 2012 and attended the Navy Instructor Training Course, earning the NEC “805A”.
In January 2013, he reported to Center for Information Dominance Unit Corry Station in Pensacola, Fla., for instructor duty. While on board, he earned his Master Training Specialist qualification, served as the 450, 451 and 452 Course Manager as well as the CTR Department Leading Chief Petty Officer. During his tour, he went on a one year individual augmentation to Djibouti, Africa where he served as the Detachment Senior Enlisted Leader and earned his Expeditionary Warfare qualification.
In February 2017, he reported to NIOC Colorado where he served as the 50 Department Leading Petty Officer as well as the IDC-W Senior Enlisted Leader. He was promoted to Senior Chief Petty Officer in June of 2018. He transferred in May 2019 attending Afloat Cryptologic Manager School and Maritime Staff Operator Course earning the NEC’s “C13A and 831A”.
In September 2019, he reported to U.S. Seventh Fleet aboard the mighty USS Blue Ridge (LCC-19) in Yokosuka, Japan, and served as the Assistant Cryptologic Resource Coordinator, the N2 Directorate Leading Chief Petty Officer, and Maritime Intelligence Operations Center Senior Enlisted Leader. He was also promoted to Master Chief Petty Officer in May of 2022.
In November 2022, he reported as the Command Senior Enlisted Leader to Naval Communications Security Management System (NCMS) located on board Joint Air Base Andrews, Maryland.
His personal awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and various unit and campaign awards.
