 Lieutenant Commander Chad E. Geis is a New Jersey native. He graduated from Fitchburg State College in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Earth Science.
 
He enlisted as an Aerographer's Mate in 2005. Graduating top of his class from A-school, and meritoriously promoted to E-4, he reported to Naval Maritime Forecast Center/Joint Typhoon Warning Center in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. There he qualified as Forecast Duty Officer and was hand-picked to be the only enlisted Sailor in the Navy to hold the position of Satellite Analyst from 2007 to 2008. He promoted to E-5 in 2007.
 
Lieutenant Commander Geis attended Officer Candidate School in May of 2008. Upon receiving his commission, he was enrolled at the Naval Postgraduate School from 2008 to 2011 where he earned a Master of Science degree in Meteorology and Physical Oceanography. He was again stationed at the Joint Typhoon Warning Center from 2011 to 2014 where he qualified as a Typhoon Duty Officer and was a hurricane/typhoon forecaster for the Fleet and DoD-wide. He spent the last half of the tour as Operations Officer and Deputy Director. From 2014 to 2017, he was assigned as Officer-in-Charge of the Naval Oceanography ASW Detachment in Naples, Italy supporting Commander Task Force SIX NINE with tactical oceanographic and acoustic support to Staff and deployed submarines of 6th Fleet. From 2017 to 2019 he served onboard USS KEARSARGE (LHD 3) as the Amphibious Ready Group Force METOC/OA Division Officer and Principle Assistant to Operations. In addition to his duties as Force METOC for all ships in company and embarked staff, he qualified and stood the watch as Officer of the Deck Underway, Combat Information Center Watch Officer, and Tactical Action Officer completing three Defense Support of Civil Authorities deployments and a 5th/6th Fleet deployment. From 2019 to 2022 he served as Force METOC for Naval Expeditionary Combat Command supporting over 20,000 Sailors worldwide and also earned his qualification as an Information Warfare Tactics Instructor in April 2021 from the Naval Information Warfighting Development Center. LCDR Geis is currently assigned as the Executive Officer for Cryptologic Warfare Activity SIX FIVE supporting 470 Sailors in National Security Agency operations. LCDR Geis was selected to O-5 in June 2022.
 
He is married to the former Jamie M. Baldwin and has two daughters, Coralyn, and Josephine.
 
His personal decorations include the Navy Achievement Medal, Navy Commendation Medal (2), Joint Service Commendation Medal, Joint Meritorious Unit Award (2), and Good Conduct Medal.​
