A native of Nevada just south of Las Vegas, Cmdr. Mackley graduated from the Naval Academy and was commissioned on May 25, 2007.
Cmdr. Mackley’s tours of duty include USS Stephen W. Groves (FFG 29) in Mayport, Fla., where he served as the Communication Officer, earned his Surface Warfare Officer (SWO) designation, and laterally transferred to the Information Professional community; USS Independence (LCS 2) in San Diego, Calif., where he served as the Electronics Maintenance Officer and earned his Information Warfare Officer (IWO) designation; Naval Satellite Operations Center in Point Mugu, Calif., where he served as Network Systems Project Manager; USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76) in Yokosuka, Japan, where he served as the Combat Systems Information Officer; NCTS Far East in Yokosuka, Japan, where he served as the Security Department Head; Bureau of Naval Personnel, Officer Community Management Branch (BUPERS-3), where he served as the Information Professional Officer Community Manager in Millington, Tenn.; U.S. 7
th Fleet in Yokosuka, Japan, where he served as the Deputy Assistant Chief of Staff for Communication and Information Systems.
He is currently assigned as the Executive Officer at Naval Network Warfare Command in Suffolk, Va.
Cmdr. Mackley received his Bachelors of Science in Information Technology from the Naval Academy and his Masters of Science in Information Technology Management from the Naval Postgraduate School. He has maintained the Certified Information Systems Security Professional certification since 2014.
Cmdr. Mackley’s decorations include the Navy Meritorious Service Medal (two awards), the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards), and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (two awards).
