Chief Warrant Officer 3 Jose Muñoz is a native of New York.  He enlisted in the Navy in December 2003.  He attended Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, Ill., and Information Systems Technician “A” School from February to May of 2003.  Chief Warrant Officer Muñoz was initiated to Chief Petty Officer in September 2011 and received his commission in June 2019.
 
Tours ashore include Naval Communication Telecommunication Station (NCTS), Yokosuka, Naval Communication Security Material System (NCMS), Det Okinawa, and United States Central Command.
 
Sea tours include USS Mustin (DDG-89), USS Shiloh (CG-67), and USS Chancellorsville (CG-62).
 
Chief Warrant Officer Munoz is authorized to wear the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (seven awards), as well as numerous unit and campaign awards.
