A native of Washington, Chief Petty Officer Tyler E. Walton enlisted in the Navy in 2008 as an Intelligence Specialist. Following completion of basic training, he reported to NMITC Dam Neck, Va., where he completed IS “A” School and Imagery Analyst “C” School in September 2009.
At sea, he served as Multi-Sensor Interpretation Watch Supervisor on board USS Enterprise (CVN 65) deploying twice to 5th Fleet supporting Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom, and as Ship’s Intelligence Officer onboard USS Ralph Johnson (DDG 114) as a plankowner, deploying to 5
th and 7
th Fleets.
Overseas shore assignments include as West Africa Counterterrorism Imagery Intelligence Team Lead for USAFRICOM J-2M in Molesworth, United Kingdom and as a U.S. representative to the Combined Libya Fusion Cell (CLFC) in Rome, Italy. Stateside, he served as the Mission Area Functional Lead for Intelligence at Afloat Training Group Pacific Northwest.
Chief Walton assumed his current duties as Naval Information Warfare Training Detachment Everett Officer in Charge in February 2023.
He is a graduate of American Military University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology, Summa Cum Laude.
His designations include Enlisted Surface Warfare, Enlisted Aviation Warfare, and Enlisted Information Warfare Specialist. His personal decorations include the Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (four awards) and various unit and campaign awards.
He enjoys woodworking, raising goats, and tabletop wargaming.
