Mr. Broene assumed his duties in 2022, as Deputy Commander, Task Force 1010 after holding civilian positions as Operations Officer, Director for Network Operations; Command Employer of Choice Director; Future Operations and Plans Division Officer; and Deputy Director of Global Operations. He is the senior civilian for a team of 400 Sailors, civilians, and contractors executing command and control of the Navy portion of the Department of Defense Information Networks and delivering space effects and operations.
Mr. Broene is a retired Navy Captain with twenty-five years of Naval Aviation experiences, ranging from flying the EA-6B Prowler as a Naval Flight Officer to Commanding Training Squadron EIGHTY-SIX. During his tenure, the squadron won both the CNO Safety “S” and the Chief of Naval Air Training “Training Excellence Award” as the most outstanding advanced training squadron. He culminated his career as Chief of Staff to Commander, Naval Network Warfare Command. He transitioned to U.S Civil Service in 2009 and has served in positions of increasing responsibility prior to becoming the Deputy Commander.
Mr. Broene holds a Master of Science degree in Administration (Information Resource Management) from Central Michigan University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering from University of Michigan. He has been recognized with the “Admiral James L. Holloway III” / Navy & Marine Association peer-selected leadership award as well as with both the Department of the Navy Superior Civilian Service and Meritorious Civilian Service awards.
