Lt. Cmdr. Henry is a natve of Arizona. He enlisted in the Navy in 2005 as an Electronics Technician and served aboard USS Ford (FFG 54). He graduated from the Naval Academy in 2012 with a bachelors in Computer Science and Information Technology, as well as a minor in Mandarin.
He assumed his present duties as the OIC of IWTG DET Japan in April 2024.
His operational tours afloat consisted of serving as the GUNNO and WEAPONS Officer on board USS Independence (LCS 2) from 2012 to 2016. From 2022 to 2024 he served as the N39 Fires Officer and Deputy Information Warfare Commander for Expeditionary Strike Group TWO.
His shore tours include serving as the Cyber National Mission Force Task Force China Mission Director from 2016 to 2019. From 2019 to 2022 he served as the Troop Commander for E troop for Joint Cyber Operations Group conducting Joint Special Operations Command cyber missions. While serving under JSOC he also served as the NSA / USCYBERCOM China Operations Group Technical Director.
His additional education and qualifications include VS6 Space Cadre, Information Warfare - Warfare Tactics Instructor, JPME Phase I, an MSc in Computer Science from Johns Hopkins University, and a MA in National Securty Studies (Asia-Pacific) from the Naval War College.
Lt. Cmdr. Henry's personal decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Commendation Medal (under combat conditions), Joint Service Achievement Medal (under combat conditions), Navy Commendation Medal, and Navy Achievement Medal (three awards).
