A native of California, Senior Chief Joshua Ash reported to Recruit Training Command in Great Lakes, Ill., in August 2000.  Upon completion of basic training, he reported to NTC Great Lakes where he attended Hospital Corpsman “A” School.
 
His assignments include USS Kinkaid (DD-965); USS Fletcher (DD-992); 1st Marine Division; Graduate of Naval School of Health Science (Independent Duty Corpsman school); Marine Special Operations Command; USS Cole (DDG-67); Naval Special Warfare Development Group; and Commander Carrier Air Group FIVE.
 
During his sea assignments, he conducted thirteen deployments in support of more than 50 operations which include Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation New Dawn, Operation Odyssey Dawn, Operation Sentinel, and Operation Allies Refuge.
 
His shore assignments include Naval Medical Center Portsmouth; Naval Branch Clinic Marine Recruit Depo Parris Island; U.S. Naval Medicine Readiness and Training Command Okinawa; and his current duty station, U. S. Naval Computer and Telecommunications Station Sicily.  
 
Senior Chief Ash’s decorations include the Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (two awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals (five awards), Combat Action Ribbon, and multiple campaign and unit awards.  He is a graduate of the U.S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy, Byer’s cup winner Class 258.  He also holds a Bachelor of Business Science Degree in Leadership from Trident University International.
