Cmdr. Karrie “Panda” Lang

Cmdr. Karrie “Panda” Lang is a native of Maryland, and was commissioned an Ensign in 2004 via NROTC at the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor of Arts degree in American Studies. She is a Command and Control / Cyberspace Operations Warfare Tactics Instructor and holds a Professional Certificate in Space Systems from the Naval Postgraduate School. Operationally she served as a Naval Flight Officer with Electronic Attack Squadron ONE THIRTY SIX (VAQ-136), forward deployed in Atsugi, Japan, with deployments on the USS Kitty Hawk (CV-63) and USS George Washington (CVN-73). She was selected for the NFO-to-Pilot transition and designated as a Naval Aviator, flying the E2-C Hawkeye. Cmdr. Lang transitioned to the Information Warfare Community as an Information Professional in 2015.
Cmdr. Lang’s assignments as an IW Officer include Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) as the DISA Command Center Current Operations Chief, NCTS Naples as the Operations Officer, Carrier Strike Group Four (CSG-4) Communications Officer, and USS George H W Bush (CVN-77) Combat Systems Officer.
Her personal awards include the Vice Admiral Mayo Award for IP Innovation and IW Leadership, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medals, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and various other service and unit awards.
