Lt. Cmdr. Juan Felipe Quintero-Moreno

L.t Cmdr. Juan Felipe Quintero-Moreno was born in Colombia. He immigrated to the United States at the age of 5 and grew up in Washington, D.C. He received his Bachelor of Science in Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering from the University of Maryland at College Park, Md. He commissioned in 2013 from Officer Candidate School in Newport, R.I. as a Nuclear Propulsion Officer and later re-designated to Information Professional Officer.
For the past nine years, he has served in a variety of operational billets leading multilateral teams composed of Sailors, civilians, and contractors in telecommunication systems, cybersecurity risk management and policy, and network administration throughout 7th Fleet, 10th Fleet, and U.S. Fleet Forces domain. His duty assignments include successful tours as Technical Control Division Officer / JFTOC Watch Officer, NCTAMS LANT, Norfolk, Va.; Information Systems Officer / Cyber Officer, USS America (LHA-6), Sasebo, Japan; Department Head, Cyber Strike Activity 63, Fort Meade, Maryland; and Operations Officer, Naval Computer and Telecommunications Station, Naples, Italy.
Lt. Cmdr. Quintero-Moreno successfully screened for and assumed the duties and responsibilities as Officer in Charge of NCTAMS PAC Detachment Puget Sound on 22 November 2024.
Lt. Cmdr. Quintero-Moreno qualified Information Warfare in 2017 and earned his Master of Science in Cybersecurity and Information Assurance from The George Washington University. His military awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (two awards), and various unit awards, service medals and ribbons.
