Senior Chief Bendick enlisted in the United States Navy in March 2003. Following completion of Recruit Training in Chicago, Ill., he reported to Naval Technical Training Center (NTTC) Corry Station Pensacola, Fla., where he completed Cryptologic Technician (Maintenance) Class “A” and “C” schools.
His first sea duty assignment was at Naval Security Group Support Detachment SEVEN, Anchorage, Alaska as a member of the Operations Department, where he completed five deployments to the Western Pacific. In 2007, he reported to NTTC Corry Station Pensacola, Fla., where he converted to Cryptologic Technician Collection (CTR) and graduated from Aviation Enlisted Aircrew Training School at Naval Air Station Pensacola. In 2008 he reported to Navy Information Operations Command Misawa, Japan as an Aircrewman in the Direct Support Department. In 2012, he returned to NTTC Corry Station and graduated from Intermediate Signals Analysis (9147/C18A) School and re-established the Direct Support Airborne Division at Navy Information Operations Command Texas in San Antonio, Texas. In 2015, he reported to the VQ-Fleet Introduction Team at Naval Air Station Whidbey Island, Washington where he led the research, development, testing, and evaluation for EP-3E, P-3 Orion, P-8 QRC, and TRITON aircraft platforms. In 2018, he reported to USS Chafee (DDG 90) for assignment as the Special Signals Exploitation Spaces Chief Petty Officer, and Operations Department Leading Chief Petty Officer.
In 2022, he reported to Commander, Naval Information Warfare Training Group in Virginia Beach, Va., as the Training Department Leading Chief Petty Officer. He assumed his current duties as Command Senior Enlisted Leader in November of 2024.
His designations include Naval Aircrewman, Enlisted Surface Warfare, and Information Warfare Specialist. His personal awards include the Naval Air Medal (three strikes), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (two awards), Humanitarian Service Medal, and various unit and campaign awards.
