Command Master Chief Malone, is a native of Alabama and enlisted in the Navy November 2000. Upon completion of Basic Enlisted Submarine School followed by Machinists Mate "A" school in Groton, Conn., and Auxiliary Package "C" school in Kings Bay, Ga. He reported for submarine duty on USS Nevada in Bangor, Wash.
His sea duty assignments include USS Nevada (SSBN-733), USS Pennsylvania (SSBN-735), USS La Jolla (SSN-701), USS City of Corpus Christi (SSN-705), USS Maine (SSBN-741), and most recently USS Hampton (SSN-767) as Chief of the Boat (COB). He completed nine strategic deterrent patrols, five Western Pacific deployments, an Eastern Pacific deployment, an engineering refuel overhaul, and a decommissioning.
Ashore, he served as Damage Control / Fire Fighting Instructor at Naval Submarine Training Center Pacific in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, Staff Senior Enlisted Leader / Damage Control Assistant at Commander, Submarine Group SEVEN in Yokosuka, Japan, and Commander Submarine Squadron TWO ONE Command Master Chief (CMC).
He has served on teams that have been recognized with numerous awards to include the Battle Efficiency “E”, Maritime Unit Citation, and Navy Unit Citations. He assumed the duties as the CMC of Navy Cyber Warfare Development Group in February 2025.
He is a graduate of Senior Enlisted Academy (Class 208, Red), COB / CMC course, and Advanced Command Master Chief Course, Class 25010 in Newport, R.I. Master Chief Malone’s personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (five awards), Overseas Service Medal (three awards), and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (ten awards), and various unit and service awards.
