Cmdr. Jason Wittrock

Cmdr. Jason Wittrock is a native of Nebraska. He attended the University of Minnesota, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Physics and earning his commission as a Cryptologic Warfare Officer through NROTC in May of 2006. Throughout his career, he earned a Master of Science in Astronautical Engineering from the Naval Postgraduate School (2011) and a Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College (2022).
Cmdr. Wittrock’s operational afloat tours include: serving at Naval Information Operations Command Hawaii as a Direct Support Officer, where he deployed with four PACFLT combatants; a deployment aboard USS Wasp with Amphibious Squadron SIX as the Staff Cryptologic Resource Coordinator; and the maiden deployment for USS Gerald R Ford with Carrier Strike Group TWELVE as the Deputy Information Warfare Commander.
While ashore, Cmdr. Wittrock served as the Contracting Officer’s Technical Representative as part of SPAWAR Space Field Activity Det Denver, where he earned his DAWIA Program Manager Level 1 certification. For his O4 milestone, he completed a tour as the Senior Operations Officer at NIOC Georgia responsible for the direction, management, and oversight of a 24/7 Indications and Warning operations center. After his milestone tour, Cmdr. Wittrock served as the Officer in Charge for U.S. Naval Information Operations Detachment Korea overseeing operations in support of Commander, United States Forces Korea and Commander, 10
th Fleet.
Cmdr. Wittrock comes to NIWTG San Diego from Naval Information Warfighting Development Center, where he previously served first as the Director of Afloat Training and finally as the Director of Operations.
Cmdr. Wittrock’s personal awards include two Defense Meritorious Service Medals, two Meritorious Service Medals, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Joint Service Achievement Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement medal, and various other unit awards.
