Lt. Cmdr. Alexandra Feltes

Lt. Cmdr. Alexandra Feltes is a native of Ohio. She graduated from the University of Akron in 2011 with a degree in Applied Mathematics and minor in Psychology. Lt. Cmdr. Feltes graduated from Officer Candidate School in Newport, R.I., in July 2013 and was commissioned an Information Warfare Officer (now Cryptologic Warfare Officer). Her first duty station was at Navy Information Operations Command (NIOC), Maryland where her positions included Battle Watch Captain as well as the A&P, Signal Development, and Defensive Cyberspace Operations Division Officer.
Departing NIOC Maryland in 2016, she reported to USS Porter (DDG 78), Forward Deployed Naval Force-Europe in Rota, Spain, serving as ship’s Information Warfare Officer, Special Security Officer, and Visit, Board, Search, and Seizure Officer. She completed three ballistic missile defense patrols within the 6th Fleet AOR in support of European and NATO allies. She then attended the Naval Postgraduate School from 2018-2021 where she earned a master’s degree in electrical engineering. She was awarded the Surface Navy Association’s Award for Excellence in Surface Warfare Research for her thesis on electromagnetic protection techniques against advanced jamming waveform threats. In 2021, Lt. Cmdr. Feltes reported to Cyber Strike Activity SIX THREE where she led a Joint Mission Team in full-spectrum cyberspace operations supporting Cyber National Mission Forces. In 2023, she reported to Cyber Warfare Activity SIX FIVE, where she served as a Deputy Section Chief in NSA’s Operations Directorate. She led a team of joint military and civilian personnel to provide threat warning and actionable intelligence to Fleet, Joint, and national customers.
Lt. Cmdr. Feltes is authorized to wear the Navy and Marine Corp Commendation Medal (four awards), Navy Battle “E” (two awards), Navy Unit Commendation Medal and numerous other unit and personal decorations.
