Lt. Cmdr. Bennett is a native of Tennessee. She earned her commission in May 2016 under the Limited Duty Officer program. In 2018, re-designated as an Information Professional (IP) Officer.
Prior to commissioning, she completed 10 years of enlisted service as an Information Systems Technician. While enlisted she was assigned to Naval Computer and Telecommunications Strategic Communications Unit (NCTSCU) Oklahoma City, USS Momsen (DDG 92), COMUSNAVCENT / COMFIFTHFLT, and Information Warfare Training Command Corry Station.
Her assignments since commissioning include USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76) where she was the Network Security Officer (NSO). In February 2017, she reported to Navy Data Center Yokosuka Japan where she was the N6 Department Head. During this tour, she earned her IP Basic and Information Warfare Officer Qualification. In April 2020, she reported to Information Warfare Training Command Virginia Beach. While on board, she earned her Command Duty Officer and Information Professional Intermediate Qualification while serving as the Information Professional Basic and Information Warfare Officer Intermediate course supervisor. She is currently assigned as the Assistant Officer-in-Charge for NNWC Det Blue Team Norfolk.
Bennett earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Exercise and Sports Science from Tennessee Wesleyan University as well as a Master of Science Degree in Information Technology from Grand Canyon University. Her personal awards include the Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (two awards) and Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (five awards), in addition to multiple unit level awards.
