A native of Vermont, Lt. Cmdr. Cassandra Schreiber holds a B.A. in Liberal Arts from Excelsior College and a Master of Arts in National Security and Strategic Studies from the Naval War College.
Lt. Cmdr. Schreiber entered active service as an Electronic Warfare Technician in 2001 and was later commissioned through the Limited Duty Officer program in 2013 as a Cryptologic Warfare Officer. Her enlisted sea tours included USS Winston Churchill (DDG 81) and USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69). She was assigned ashore to Center for Information Dominance Corry Station in Pensacola, Fla., as an instructor in August 2006. In May of 2007 she accepted an Individual Augmentee attached to SOCCENT headquartered out of Camp As Sayliyah in Qatar. Upon returning to CID Corry Station, she was nominated and selected as the 2010 CNO Shore Sailor of the Year and meritoriously advanced to Chief Petty Officer.
Schreiber earned her commission while stationed at Navy Information Operations Command Norfolk in March 2013. She reported to the USS Wasp (LHD1) in August of 2013 and served as the Information Warfare and Electronic Warfare Officer while onboard. Following her sea tour, Schreiber served as the Space, Cyber, and C4I liaison at the Naval Office of Legislative Affairs; Cryptologic Warfare Officer junior detailer, Navy Personnel Command; and Deputy N39, information planner at Commander, US Second Fleet.
Personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy Commendation Medal, Joint Service Achievement Medal, and the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
