Master Chief Cryptologic Technician (Technical) (IW/SW/AW) David J. Wrachford is a native of Pennsylvania and enlisted in the Navy in 2007. After completing CTT “A” and “C” schools in Pensacola, Fla, he reported to his first sea duty assignment aboard the ballistic missile defense destroyer USS Higgins (DDG 76) in San Diego, Calif., as a surface electronic warfare technician and operator. In 2012 he reported to the Center for Information Dominance Learning Site in Yokosuka, Japan to instruct electronic warfare “F” courses. In 2014 he reported to the amphibious assault ship USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6) in Sasebo, Japan as the electronic warfare leading petty officer. While on board he advanced to Chief Petty Officer and served as the electronic warfare, cryptologic, METOC, and combat information center LCPO. In 2018 he reported to the Ship Repair Facility and Japan Regional Maintenance Center in Yokosuka, Japan as a fleet electronic warfare technician for emergent repairs and subject matter expert for shipyard projects. There he advanced to senior chief petty officer. In 2021 he reported to Expeditionary Strike Group SEVEN in Okinawa, Japan where he served as the White Beach staff senior enlisted advisor and electronic warfare officer. While on board, he advanced to Master Chief Petty Officer.
He reported to NIOC Whidbey Island in March of 2024, where he serves as the command Senior Enlisted Leader.
Master Chief Wrachford is a graduate of the U.S. Navy Senior Enlisted Academy and the CMDCM / COB course. His awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal (three awards), Navy Achievement Medal (two awards), and various campaign, expeditionary, and service awards.
