Cmdr. Craig T. “Sham-Wow!” McLemore

A native of Tennessee, Cmdr. McLemore graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts in Linguistics and commissioned through the NROTC program. He holds a Master of Science in Cybersecurity Policy from the University of Maryland University College (2015), a Master of Arts with Distinction in National Security and Strategic Studies from the U.S. Naval War College (2022), a graduate certificate in Space Systems from the Naval Postgraduate School (2019), and Federal Chief Information Officer Certification through National Defense University’s College of Information and Cyberspace (2023).
Originally an E‑2C Hawkeye Naval Flight Officer, Cmdr. McLemore served in Carrier Airborne Early Warning Squadron (VAW) 126, flying combat missions from USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75) and qualifying as Mission Commander. After redesignation to Information Professional, he served as Carrier Strike Group TEN Flag Communications Officer and Information Systems Security Manager, with one combat deployment aboard USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN 69). His last opeational tour was Communications and Information Systems Director and Command Information Officer for U.S. Naval Forces Southern Command / U.S. 4
th Fleet Maritime Operations Center, serving concurrently as 30
th Secretary of the Inter‑American Naval Telecommunications Network.
He served ashore at Task Force 1030 / Naval Information Operations Command Norfolk as Information Operations Planner and Navy Blue Team Battle Watch Captain in support of Operation Rolling Tide. As an Operational Test Director at Operational Test and Evaluation Force, he planned and executed initial operational testing and evaluation for the force level variant of the Consolidated Afloat Networks and Enterprise Services program of record. He served a joint tour at NORAD and USNORTHCOM Cyberspace Operations Directorate (J6) as Joint All Domain Command and Control Project Manager and Executive Officer to the J6 Director. Most recently, he served as Deputy Executive Assistant to the Deputy Chief of Naval Operations for Information Warfare (OPNAV N2N6) and Director of Naval Intelligence.
Cmdr. McLemore is qualified as Information Warfare Officer, Naval Flight Officer, Space Cadre, and Joint Qualified Officer. He is authorized to wear the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (three awards), Strike / Flight Air Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (two awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (two awards), and various units, campaign, and service awards.
