Capt. Robert “Brian” Conner

Capt. Robert (Brian) Conner, a native of Alabama, enlisted into the Navy in 1996 as an Electronics Technician. He was commissioned through Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps Unit Hampton Roads from Old Dominion University. He attended the Naval Postgraduate School and earned a master’s degree in information technology management. He is a graduate of the Joint Forces Staff College.
His sea tours include USS Blue Ridge (LCC 19) and USS Kitty Hawk (CV 63) in Yokosuka, Japan. He served as Combat Systems Officer on USS Independence (LCS 2) and was Director of Assured Command and Control (N6) to Commander Carrier Strike Group Twelve with the Abraham Lincoln and Gerald R. Ford Strike Groups. During these sea assignments, he executed post-drydock sea trials, a global deployment, and sea trials of the Navy’s first Ford Class CVN.
His shore assignments include Space / Cyber Ops Planner at the Global Satellite Communications Support Center and Cyber Warning Operations Center Chief and Cyber Domain Officer in Charge at North American Aerospace Defense Command and U.S. Northern Command. He was Deputy Executive Assistant to Commander, U.S. Fleet Cyber Command / U.S. 10
th Fleet. He commanded Naval Computer and Telecommunications Station Hampton Roads and served as the Senior Information Professional Community Detailer at Navy Personnel Command.
Conner's personal decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal (two awards), the Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (two awards), and other unit and service awards.
