Cmdr. Sondra A. Longworth

Cmdr. Longworth is a native of Georgia. She holds two bachelor’s degrees and one master’s degree from the University of Georgia and commissioned in October 2008 from Officer Candidate School in Newport, R.I., as a Cryptologic Warfare Officer.
She attended Information Warfare Basic Course in Pensacola, Fla., and reported to Navy Information Operations Command Maryland in May 2009 where she served as a Division Officer and earned her Information Warfare Officer Qualification. Upon completion, she reported to USS Higgins (DDG 76) as the Tactical Information Warfare Officer where she earned her Surface Warfare Officer Qualification.
Her shore duty assignments include Instructor and Department Head at Center for Information Warfare Training Corry Station, Pensacola, Fla., where she completed her Master Training Specialist Qualification; Flag Aide for U.S. Fleet Cyber Command / U.S. 10
th Fleet at Fort Meade, Md.; Maritime Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance planner for United States Africa Command, Stuttgart Germany where she was USAFRICOM’s 2018 Field Grade Officer of the year; Cryptologic Warfare and Cyber Warfare Engineer Junior Officer Detailer in Millington, Tenn.; Executive Officer for the Naval Ice Center in Suitland, Maryland and Director of Information Operations for U.S. Naval Forces Southern Command / U.S. 4
th Fleet, Jacksonville, Fla. Cmdr. Longworth is currently the Commanding Officer of Cryptologic Warfare Maritime Activity SIXTY ONE.
Cmdr. Longworth’s personal awards include Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corp Commendation Medal (five awards) and Joint Service Achievement Medal (two awards).
