Lt. Cmdr. Amador “Alejandro” Marin is a native of Connecticut. Alejandro studied Electronics at Thomas Edison State College, followed by a master’s in science in Cyber Security from the University of Maryland Global Campus.
Alejandro began his Naval career by enlisting on March 28, 2000, with follow-on assignments at Aviation Intermediate Maintenance Department Norfolk SEAOPDET, at Naval Station Norfolk, Patrol Squadron FOUR (VP-4), and Patrol Special Project Squadron TWO (VPU-2), both out of MCBH Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii.
In 2013, he was commissioned as a Cryptologic Warfare Officer via Officer Candidate School (OCS), with his first command as a cryptologist at Navy Information Operations Command (NIOC) Maryland. There, he qualified as Fleet Information Operations Center Battle Watch Captain, deployed in support of the Naval Special Warfare Development Group, and served as the Operations Chief for the Office of Counter Terrorism in the Arabian Peninsula / Eastern Africa. Follow assignments include Information Warfare Officer on board USS McCampbell (DDG-85) out of Yokosuka, Japan, N2 / N39 directorate at Commander Pacific Fleet Headquarters in Hawaii, Cyberspace Operations Integrated Planning Element (CO-IPE) Deputy Operations Officer / IO cell lead out of U.S. Indo-Pacific Command Headquarters, in Hawaii, N39 / Cryptologic Resource Coordinator at Naval Special Warfare Group TWO out of Little Creek, Va., and lastly at, Navy Network Warfare Command Navy Blue Team - Norfolk, as the Officer in Charge.
Lt. Cmdr. Marin’s personal awards include Defense Meritorious Service Medal (one award), Air Medal (six awards), Joint Commendation Medal (one award), Navy Commendation Medal (two awards), Joint Achievement Medal (one award), Navy Achievement Medal (six awards), and various campaign and unit awards.
