Lt. Cmdr. Lauren Gannon

Executive Officer, Naval Communications Security Management System

29 September 2025 Lt. Cmdr. Gannon is a native of California. She graduated from The George Washington University with a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations with an emphasis on Eurasia and commissioned through the university’s NROTC in 2012. 

Her initial assignment was aboard USS Laboon (DDG58) from 2012-2014 where she served as Electronic Warfare Officer and Communications Officer earning her Surface Warfare qualification during Laboon’s maiden BMD deployment to the C6F area of operations.  Other afloat assignments include USS James E. Williams (DDG 95) as Damage Control Assistant from 2014-2016, and aboard USS George H. W. Bush (CVN 77) from 2022-2024 as Assistant Intelligence Officer deploying to the C6F area of responsibility.

Ashore, Lt. Cmdr. Gannon graduated from Navy Intelligence Officer Basic Course in 2016 and reported to Nimitz OPINTEL Center where she served from 2017-2020 as a C7F Watch Officer on the Global Maritime Watch earning her Information Warfare qualification, and Bridge Analyst for the Transnational Threat Department’s Global Maritime Environment Division.  From 2020-2022 she served as Division Lead for Intelligence Operations at Naval Information Warfighting Development Center, responsible for Warfighting Tactics Instructor curriculum development and instruction, and the development of IW doctrine, CONOPS, and advanced TTP.  She reported to NCMS as Executive Officer in January 2025.

Lt. Cmdr. Gannon’s personal decorations include: The Navy Commendation Medal (three awards), the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (two awards), as well as other individual, unit and campaign awards.
