CTICM Kate Greifzu

A native of the great state of New Jersey, CTICM Kate Greifzu enlisted in the United States Navy on Nov. 22, 2005. Following completion of basic training at Recruit Training Command Great Lakes and the Arabic Basic course in Monterey, Calif., she reported to her first duty station, Navy Information Operations Command Georgia in 2007.
After serving three years in Georgia's Direct Support Department, she was accepted into the Military Language Analyst Program and transferred to Navy Information Operations Command Maryland at Fort Meade, Md. In 2014, she was selected to Chief Petty Officer and served from 2014 to 2017 as the Command Language Program Manager for Navy Information Operations Command Maryland, earning her program the Department of Defense Command Language Program of the Year award for 2016. Master Chief Greifzu was next assigned to Cryptologic Warfare Maritime Activity SIXTY ONE as the Direct Support Department Leading Chief Petty Officer and then to Cryptologic Warfare Activity SIX FIVE where she served as both a National Security Agency Office Senior Enlisted Leader and Department Leading Chief Petty Officer. Most recently, she was stationed at Navy Information Operations Command Pensacola as the Command Language Program Manager and N7 Department Leading Chief Petty Officer.
Master Chief Greifzu currently serves as the Command Senior Enlisted Leader for Cryptologic Warfare Activity SIX FIVE.
She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Drew University in 2001 and an associate’s degree in Arabic from the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center in 2007.
Master Chief Greifzu is a qualified Enlisted Information Warfare Specialist and Enlisted Surface Warfare Specialist. Her decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal (two awards), Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards), Joint Service Achievement Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and various unit and campaign awards.
