A native of California, Cmdr. Blake Henderson received his commission through Officer Candidate school in 2009 after earning a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Bachelor of Arts in Portuguese from Brigham Young University. He holds a Master of Science in Cyber Systems and Operations from the Naval Postgraduate School and is a qualified Maritime Cyber Warfare Officer, Cryptologic Warfare Officer, and Information Warfare Officer.  In August 2025, he assumed duties as Executive Officer, Cyber Group ONE on Oahu, Hawaii.

His operational assignments include serving as a Tactical Information Operations Officer for Special Reconnaissance Team TWO where he deployed with Special Operations Task Forces in Afghanistan and East Africa while supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.

Ashore, he served as an operations officer at Navy Information Operations Command (NIOC) Texas, supporting counter narcotics and people smuggling missions.  At the United States Indo- Pacific Command (USINDOPACOM), he led offensive cyber operations planning, drafted key Operational Plans, and qualified as Operations Officer for the nation’s largest combatant command.  While at NIOC Pacific, he led teams conducting intelligence-centered computer network operations to fulfil national requirements.

In Henderson’s previous assignment, he was the offensive cyber lead for the Cyber Operations Integrated Planning Element at USINDOPACOM where he integrated cyber into current and future operations in the Pacific.

His personal awards include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal (two awards), Joint Service Commendation Medal (two awards), Army Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Joint Service Achievement Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, and the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal.
