A native of Texas, Lt. Cmdr. Jason Tucker graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Linguistics and a minor in Arabic, commissioning through NROTC.
Lt. Cmdr. Tucker graduated from NIOBC in February 2012 and then from Joint Targeting School in May. His first operational sea duty was as the Assistant Targeteer for Carrier Air Wing FIVE in Atsugi, Japan where he completed two West Pacific deployments with the Wing embarked on USS George Washington (CVN-73), including participation in Humanitarian aid efforts in support of Operation Damayan in the Philippines after Typhoon Haiyan. His second assignment was as the N2A for SEAL Team THREE in Coronado, Calif. He deployed as part of Special Operations Task Force-Iraq and his unit was the primary USSOF element supporting the Iraqi counter-offensive in Ramadi in 2015 and conducting counter-ISIS targeting in Anbar Province.
Lt. Cmdr. Tucker completed his master’s degree in National Security Affairs at Naval Postgraduate School with a Middle East sub-specialty. His thesis covered corruption in the public and private sectors in Iraq.
Lt. Cmdr. Tucker was then stationed at U.S. Central Command’s Joint Intelligence Center where he primarily served as the J22 analysis team chief for Yemen. During his tour at CENTCOM, he also completed a seven-month deployment to Erbil, Iraq in 2020 as the Deputy J2 for a regional special operations task force. Lt. Cmdr. Tucker completed his O4 milestone as the Senior Intelligence Watch Officer for the U.S. 5
th Fleet Maritime Operations Center during periods of regional conflict including the initiation of the Israel-HAMAS conflict in Gaza following Oct. 7, 2023, and combat operations against the Huthis in the Red Sea. He subsequently served as the Deputy MIOC Director for Fleet Cyber Command, Navy Space Command, Joint Force Headquarters-Cyber (Navy), Commander U.S. 10
th Fleet, and Navy Cryptologic office. During this tour, he graduated from Navy Information Warfare Development Center Warfare Tactics Instructor class 25-1.
Lt. Cmdr. Tucker now serves as the Executive Officer for Cryptologic Warfare Activity SIXTY-SIX in Fort Meade, Md.
Lt. Cmdr. Tucker’s personal awards include the Bronze Star Medal, the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Navy Commendation Medal, and the Army Commendation Medal, as well as multiple unit and service awards.
