Lt. Cmdr. Eugene T. Frye is a Native of Virginia.  Prior to his military career he earned a Certificate of Professional Data Entry from the National College of Business and Technology in Charlottesville, Va.  He enlisted in the Navy in January of 2000 as a Seaman Recruit and completed Information Systems Technician A school out of Great Lakes, Ill.
 
As an enlisted Sailor he served as Broadcast Supervisor for Commander Submarine Group Ten (CSG-10) Kings Bay, Radio Watch Supervisor onboard USNS Kanawha (TAO-196), Automated Data Processing LPO of USS Nassau (LHA-4), and Flag Communicator for Naval Network Warfare Command (NNWC) out of Little Creek, Va. 
 
Prior to commissioning Lt. Cmdr. Frye earned a degree in Organization Management from Ashford University and achieved the rank of Chief Petty Officer. 
 
Lt. Cmdr. Frye commissioned into the Information Warfare Community as a Limited Duty Officer (LDO 6820) before laterally transferring as an Information Professional (IP 1820).  He received his Master of Science in Network Operations and Technology and Joint Professional Military Education (JPME) Phase I from Naval Postgraduate School. 
 
He held positions as the Officer in Charge of NCTS Far East Det Sasebo, Network Operations Officer on board USS Mount Whitney (LCC-20), Team Lead of Cyber Protection Team 555 (CPT-555), and Security Management Department Head / Operations Officer for NCTS Far East Yokosuka, Japan.
