Lt. Cmdr. Jennings is a native of Missouri. He joined the Navy in 1997 and served for 14 years as an Electronics Technician prior to receiving his commission through the Limited Duty Officer program in 2011.  He holds a Master of Science in Network Operations and Technology from the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) and has received additional degrees and certificates from NPS, the Naval War College, and Wayland Baptist University.
 
At sea and operational, his commissioned assignments include the Assistant C5I Officer and CSIO aboard USS Wasp (LHD-1); Fleet Communications Officer Computer and Information Systems Current Operations Officer at Commander 7th Fleet; Task Force Communications Officer at Commander Expeditionary Strike Group SEVEN / CTF-76; and as a Joint Fleet Telecommunications Operations Center Watch Officer and the Pacific Message Center Division Officer at the Naval Computer and Telecommunications Area Master Station, Pacific.
 
On shore he attended the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, Calif.
 
Lt. Cmdr. Jennings assumed command of Naval Computer and Telecommunications Strategic Communications Unit, Oklahoma City on September 25, 2023.
 
Lt. Cmdr. Jennings’ personal awards include the Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (five), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (three), and the 2019 AFCEA Copernicus Award.
