Cmdr. Kitan Bae is a native of South Korea, and is a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Systems Engineering, a Minor in Mandarin, and a Master of Science in Systems Engineering and Analysis from the Naval Postgraduate School. He began his career in the Navy as a Naval Aviator, flew the T-34 and T-45 at NAS Whiting Field and NAS Meridian before laterally transferring into the Information Warfare Community in 2008.
Cmdr. Bae’s assignments include: Commander U.S. Fleet Cyber Command / U.S. 10
th Fleet as Deputy Commander for Joint Task Force – Cyber at Honolulu, Hawaii; Navy Information Operations Command (NIOC) Georgia / CTF 1050 as Operations Officer (N3); Navy Information Operations Detachment Australia Officer-in-Charge; CTF-76 / Expeditionary Strike Group SEVEN (COMEXSTRGRU 7) Cryptologic Resource Coordinator; Counter-C4ISR Capabilities-Based Assessment Lead and Executive Assistant to the Director of Integrated Fires at OPNAV N2 / N6 F3; EP-3E Special Evaluator (SPECEVAL), VQ-1 Squadron SPECEVAL instructor and CTG 1050.2 Operations Officer at NIOC Bahrain; Sub-surface Direct Support Officer, N6 Department Head, and NSA/CSS Threat Operations Center-Hawaii (NTOC-H) Operations Officer at NIOC Hawaii.
Cmdr.
