Lt. Cmdr. Jason F. Figgeroa, a native of Hawaii, completed his undergraduate & postgraduate degree from American Military University and received a commission through Officer Candidate School in 2012.  He also completed Joint Professional Military Education (JPME) phase 1 in 2020.  Figgeroa initially enlisted in 2007 as a Hospital Corpsman upon completion of Recruit Training and Hospital Corpsman “A” School in Great Lakes, Ill.
 
Figgeroa’s operational enlisted assignment was a tour as a Fleet Marine Force Surgical Technologist with 2nd Medical Battalion from 2008 to 2012.  He deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom at Camp Leatherneck and Camp Dwyer in 2009 as part of the 2nd Marine Expeditionary Brigade.
 
Figgeroa’s operational officer assignments include Intelligence Officer for Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron TWELVE forward deployed in Atsugi, Japan where he conducted four deployments on board USS George Washington, and was part of the first response for Operation Damayan in the Philippines.  He was also stationed with COMSEVENTHFLT in Yokosuka, Japan as the lead intelligence planner responsible for multiple large-scale exercises for U.S. and partnered nations.  Additionally, he served as the Intelligence Officer for Destroyer Squadron SEVEN in Singapore where he was responsible for MDA / MARSEC initiatives along with performing duties as the U.S. representative in the multinational Information Fusion Center.  For his O4 milestone, he completed a successful tour at Expeditionary Strike Group SEVEN / Task Force 76/3 as the Deputy Intelligence Officer.
 
Figgeroa’s ashore officer assignments include a tour as the S-2 Chief with 2nd NATO Signal Battalion in Naples, Italy, where he was responsible for cryptographic items for NATO units in Italy, Romania, Bulgaria, and Operation Active Fence in Turkey.  He was also assigned to COMFIFTHFLT in Bahrain as the Collections Manager responsible for planning and executing collection plans during a period of heightened tensions in the Gulf from 2018 to 2019.  Recently, he was the Deputy Director of Intelligence for Task Force 51/5th Marine Expeditionary Brigade from 2023 to 2024, responsible for leading the Expeditionary Intelligence Enterprise across the USS Bataan Amphibious Readiness Group/26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (Special Operations Capable) and the USS Lewis B. Puller during heightened regional crises.
 
His personal awards include the Information Warfare Officer Device, Enlisted Fleet Marine Force Warfare Specialist Device, Meritorious Service Medal (two awards), Navy Commendation Medal (four awards), Joint Service Achievement Medal, the Navy Achievement Medal (four awards), Presidential Unit Citation, Battle “E” Ribbon, Afghanistan Campaign Medal with FMF device, NATO ISAF Article 5 medal, and other personal & unit awards and citations.  Figgeroa is also the recipient of the 2018 Rear Adm. Thomas A. Brooks Junior Intelligence Officer of the Year (sea category) for the Navy.
