Cmdr. Christian G. Acord

Cmdr. Acord is a native of Washington state. He graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 2006, receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science and holds a Master of Science Degree in Computer Science from the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS). He assumed his current duties as Executive Officer of Naval Computer and Telecommunications Station Naples, Italy in June 2024.
His operational and sea tours include Automated Data Processing Officer, Force Protection Officer, and Lead VBSS Boarding Officer in USS Gettysburg (CG 64), Auxiliaries Division Officer in USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72), N6 / C4I Officer in DESRON FOUR ZERO (CDS 40) embarking on the USNS Spearhead (T-EPF 1), USNS Yuma (T-EPF 8), USS Gunston Hall (LSD 44), and USS Somerset (LPD 25), and CIO / N6 Director at U.S. Naval Forces Europe and Africa and U.S. 6
th Fleet. He has completed two C5F deployments and three C4F deployments.
Originally a Surface Warfare Officer, Cmdr. Acord re-designated to Information Professional in 2009 and earned his Information Warfare Officer pin while at NPS. After graduating NPS in 2012, he served as N6 Staff and Coordination Officer at NATO Headquarters Maritime Component Command Naples, Italy until its deactivation in 2013. He then transferred to serve as the J6 Staff Officer (Information Assurance) and the J6 Cyber Defense SME at NATO Joint Forces Command Naples. From 2018, he served as the Chief Staff Officer, Cryptologic Warfare Activity SIXTY-SEVEN (CWA 67) and the Deputy Chief of the NSA Hunt team. In 2021, he returned to Naples, Italy and served as the N6 Plans and Exercises Department Head, Deputy N6 Director, and filled the gapped CIO / N6 Director Billet before his transfer to NCTS Naples.
Cmdr. Acord was awarded the Humanitarian Assistance Medal for supporting the Joint Task Force-Leeward Island disaster relief operations for the islands of Sint Maarten and Martinique, after Hurricanes Irma and Maria in 2017. His personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Commendation Medal (two awards), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (two awards) and various unit, campaign, and service awards.
