CMDCM (FMF/SFS/SW/EXW/SCW) Harmon is a native of Alabama. He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1994. He completed Recruit Training at RTC Great Lakes in 1995. After recruit training, he reported to NTTC Great Lakes, Ill., for Seamanship Training school before reporting to his first fleet assignment.
His previous duty assignments include USS Moosebrugger (DD-980), Mayport, Fla.; COMFLEACT, Yokosuka, Yokosuka, Japan; Naval Weapons Station Charleston, Charleston, S.C.; Naval Expeditionary Guard Battalion, Guantanamo Bay Cuba; NCIS Threat Mitigation Unit, Manama, Bahrain; COMFLEACT Okinawa, Okinawa, Japan; NAVCONBRIG, Charleston, Charleston, S.C.; USS Ashland (LSD- 48), Sasebo, Japan; Navy Expeditionary Combat Command, Little Creek, Va., NMCB 133, Gulfport, Miss.; and Command Master Chief 3D Medical Battalion, Okinawa, Japan. His current duties and responsibilities are serving as the Command Master Chief of NCTS Manama Bahrain.
He is a graduate of Class 213 Senior Enlisted Academy, and CMC / COB Course. He earned a Master’s degree in Human Resources Development from Webster University in 2013 and a Bachelor’s of Science from Voorhees College in 2008.
CMDCM Harmon’s personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal (one award), Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal (three awards), Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (nine awards), Navy Good Conduct Medal (eight awards), Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal (two awards), and various campaign and service awards. He’s authorized to wear the Fleet Marine Force Warfare / Security Forces Specialists Warfare / Enlisted Surface Warfare / Expeditionary Warfare / and Seabee Combat Warfare designator pins.
