Capt. McIntyre is a native of Virginia.  He graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology and received his commission through the Naval Reserve Officer Training Corps in 2002.  He holds Master of Science degrees in meteorology and physical oceanography from the Naval Postgraduate School, and in hydrography from the University of Southern Mississippi.

Upon commissioning, he served as a surface warfare officer before redesignation to Special Duty Officer (Oceanography) in 2007.  He now serves as a member of the Navy’s Information Warfare Community.

At sea, Capt. McIntyre served on board USS Bunker Hill (CG 52) as the Communications Officer and Combat Information Center Officer; on board USS Jarrett (FFG 33) as the Training Officer; and attached to Seal Reconnaissance Team ONE where he served as the Cross Functional Troop Officer in Charge.

Ashore, Capt. McIntyre served as military hydrographer and Expeditionary Division Officer at Fleet Survey Team; Officer in Charge of Naval Special Warfare Center San Diego; Unmanned Undersea Vehicle requirements officer and Antisubmarine action officer on the staff of the Chief of Naval Operations (N2N6E); Branch Chief for environmental and geospatial intelligence capabilities for the Deputy Director of Intelligence and Battlespace Awareness on the Joint Chiefs of Staff (J28); and Executive Officer at Fleet Numerical Meteorology and Oceanography Center; and the Assistant Chief of Staff for Education and Training (N7) for Commander, Naval Information Forces.  Capt. McIntyre commanded the Naval Oceanography Mine Warfare Center, Stennis Space Center, Miss.

Capt. McIntyre currently serves as the Commanding Officer of Naval Information Warfare Training Group – Norfolk.

Capt. McIntyre’s decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal, Navy Achievement Medal, and various service and campaign awards.
