Ombudsman

Dear NIOD Groton Families,
 
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. My name is Tiffiny Willis, and I have served as the ombudsman for NIOD Groton since May 2019. Over the past 21 years, I have had the privilege of experiencing life as an active duty Navy spouse. During those 21 years, I have navigated seven relocations and multiple deployments. I fully understand and have experienced Navy life and its unique challenges for families and friends, and I am very excited to be able to apply what I’ve learned to help the NIOD Groton Sailors, families, and friends.
               
As the command appointed ombudsman, my job is to serve as a voice between our command leadership and families. Please consider me as your first point of contact for all family members connected to our command; this includes spouses, parents, and extended family members. Besides serving as the command's voice, I am here to assist you by providing information and referrals both within the Navy and the local community.
 
My main goal as ombudsman is to assist NIOD Groton families and friends in successfully navigating the Navy lifestyle. Any questions, comments, complaints, concerns, etc. will all be handled in the strictest confidence and in a professional manner.
