Celebrating the 2023 Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society Recognition Ceremony!
20 June 2023
Norfolk, Va. -- Vice Adm. Kelly Aeschbach,
Naval Information Forces commander, recognized 12 extraordinary subordinate area coordinators from Hampton Roads during a ceremony at the Pennsylvania House, Norfolk Naval Station, VA. Together they raised an astounding $783,899 in relief funds, reaching an impressive 91 percent of our Sailors across 344 Hampton Roads Area Commands
The Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society (NMCRS) has been an invaluable pillar of support for our military community, and their impact in 2022 has been nothing short of remarkable. Through their efforts, over 8,295 members of our community have received more than $8.7 million in vital financial assistance. This assistance has made a tangible difference in the lives of our Sailors, Marines, and their families, providing them with the much-needed help during challenging times.
One standout accomplishment of NMCRS Hampton Roads in 2022 was the provision of emergency travel funds to 222 service members. This assistance allowed our brave men and women in uniform to be there for their loved ones during urgent situations, fostering the unity and support that is the bedrock of our military family.
"I want to express my deepest appreciation to everyone who contributed their time, energy, and resources to this worthy cause. Your dedication and generosity have made a tangible difference in the lives of our Sailors, Marines, and their families. Together, we have built a foundation of support that will endure for years to come," said Aeschbach.
Let us join together in recognizing the outstanding achievements of these deserving individuals and the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society. Their commitment to service and compassion for our military community are truly commendable. Congratulations to the 12 subordinate area coordinators from Hampton Roads, and thank you to the NMCRS for their unwavering support!
