'Twas the Night Before Christmas ... on the NCDOC Watchfloor

Suffolk, Va. -- Tonight while you enjoy a silent night with your loved ones, your
U.S. Navy #cyber Sailors are hard at work keeping our networks safe and secure!
"Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the network,
Several threats were stirring, our Sailors are hard at work
The watch standers watch the DoDIN with care
In hopes that nothing bad will be there
The world is nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of safety danced in their heads.
And IT1 at his keyboard, and I on my watch,
Had just altered our brains for a long evening watch.
When out on the network there arose such a clatter,
We sprang into action to see what was the matter.
Away to our keyboards we flew like the flash,
Alerted NCDOC, there’s no need for a clash
The moon on the breast of the new-fallen attempt,
Gave the luster of mid-day to objects contempt
When what to our wondering eyes should be seen,
But a determined attacker, committing a major crime on the screen
With a computer exploit, so lively and quick,
We knew in a moment the attacker was most slick
And then, in a twinkling, we saw the breach
The attack and counter of each security tool.
As we drew up our response, to turn the tables on the attacker,
We ended his attempt like a nutcracker
NETWARCOM & NCDOC sprang to their keyboards, to their team gave a whistle,
And away the cyber intrusion flew like the down of a missile.
NETWARCOM & NCDOC are careful to secure and defend our network,
So the world is safe and secure,
We know it’s hard, but we keep up the fight,
And Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!”
